pregnancy and family

I am a Registered Nurse (2004) and Midwife (2010) with extensive experience in all areas of midwifery. I have a special interest in postnatal care and breastfeeding, and I am proud to be part of the team of midwives at the National Maternity Hospital, where over the years I have gained the experience and confidence to care for you and your baby.

I am a mother of three beautiful children, including two girls named Carla and Claudia Joy whom I hold close in my arms. I also have a son named Hugo, who left this world on April 24th, 2019, but remains forever in my heart.

As a breastfeeding advocate, I have completed a Professional Certificate in Lactation at UCD (level 9, grade A) and I am also a Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC, International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants).

Since Hugo's passing, I have become interested in helping other families who have experienced perinatal loss. I am involved in various projects and fundraisers to improve bereaved parents' care in Spain.

In 2020, I published a book in Spanish called "Tears and Smiles for Hugo," sharing our experience and how the amazing bereavement care we received impacted our lives.

I love being a midwife and giving women the time and care they need. I am grateful when families express their appreciation for my work. After losing Hugo, I never thought I could return to midwifery, but not only did I return, I came back more prepared, empathetic, and overall, a better midwife.

Many people have asked me to visit them at home, and one day, I thought, "maybe I could look into the legal part of doing it" This is how Your Midwife was born.

I look forward to meeting you and being part of your journey wherever you are.
